Tired of getting dust crusted into your eyes? Snow getting blown into the sides of your face? Not anymore with Alba Optics new SOLO frames.

We had a chance to try the new Alba Optics adventure-ready, retro-inspired frame called SOLO. These new shades provide ample coverage to protect a rider’s eyes in a variety of weather and road conditions while the removable side shields help guard against wind and debris with their alpine hiker throwback feel. Like the ANVMA frames, they also feature ventilation slots in both the bridge and lenses to keep the lenses from fogging. On top of it all, they have telescoping temple arms that adjust for a customized fit.

The glasses performed amazingly well on the colder fall days with intense bright light, deep shadows, and bitter winds. Visually, the VZUM™ ML KING lenses worked remarkably well, dialing in and sharpening all the details of the trail and road. No fogging up with the cool breath as we climbed along the gravel hills. The expanding temple arms allowed us to dial in the fit to stay put on the bumpy descents. The side shields worked great, keeping the wind and dust out of our eyes. They worked like googles without the clumsy frames on your face. Plus, like the ANVMA frames, they are extremely lightweight, durable, and comfortable on long days in the saddle. Not to mention they look great in the backwoods or rambling around town. We could see these performing well for xc skiing in the winter as well once the snow starts flying.
